Our 2010 Golf Classic is in the books and the winning team was Rogers Craig, Rocky Terry, Dick Aldinger and Orlando Bautista. Congratulations to them.
Our Golf Classic will begin at 0800 this morning. Last night we all gathered at Rogers Craig’s house for a meet and greet. It was great meeting new folks and seeing some familiar faces. I will try and make another update tonight.
A printable schedule of events is now available for the 2010 Classic. Please use the following link.
We have received word that the new Best Western is open and ready to take us in. Call 254-883-6000 and mention that you are with the RED HORSE Group.
Just to let everyone know that we have 3 more players who will be competing in our Classic. Donald Thomas, Allen Sailer and Jimmie West have entered the fray. Thanks to each for their support.
Thanks also to Harry Richburg who has sponsored a hole and will attend.
There’s still time to get a team together and join us.
Dick Aldinger gets the first Atta Boy for our 2010 Classic. He and Janet will be making their way from Florida to Texas to participate and we appreciate it greatly. Remember, the money that is raised benefits our Scholarship/Morale fund. Why not get a team together and join us.
This trip enhanced the REDHORSE Associations creditability, fortified our visibility by contacting well over 30 significant civic, community and political leaders, giving them the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the Leadership of the RHA which directly resulted in enhancing our relationship, solidifying our friendship, and warmly thanking a severely economically depressed city for their wonderfully warm and generous hospitality to the REDHORSE Association family.
The objective of this trip was four fold.
1. To plan a closer rapport with the Marlin Country Club personnel, local businesses, and other civic and political leaders, enhance the positive relationship between the RHA and civilian populace and this should result in a more successful event.
2. To organize any details related to the planning phase and advance preparation that should avoid any unforeseen issues that would impact our special guests and attendees of the RHA 3rd annual golf classic.
3. To Schedule requirements, catering, menu items, entertainment and significant prizes, etc.
4. To confirm or “light a fire” (the RED HORSE way), under the Management of the Best Western, to ensure he gets the hotel ready for occupancy by our October deadline.
Emphasis was placed with the Management of the Best Western Hotel on the importance of having his rooms open for occupancy by October. He assured me that it will happen.
It is recognized and well thought-of that Marlin Country Club and the Citizens of the City of Marlin Texas are indeed true to the RED HORSE sprit and tradition, as they are leaders, not followers and they don’t waste time doing unimportant things.
